Webkinz Jellybean Challenge

Sep 02, 2011  Sydney picked this Webkinz Jelly Bean Puppy. When I ordered the Jelly Bean Puppy I also ordered the other 2 on her list, Hope Mazin Hamster and Minty Moose. She loved every one of them and was so excited to get a new Webkinz the day before her birthday, the day of her birthday and one the day after her birthday. These Webkinz are very well made. Feb 22, 2009  Recorded on February 22, 2008 using a Flip Video camcorder. Dec 30, 2014 The jellybean challenge always seemed impossible to win. Whenever I entered a guess, a message would pop up saying 'Wow. That was way off.' I could never figure out the secret to guessing the number of beans. However, I have recently figured out how to get closer to guessing the actual number.

How to “Party Jelly Bean Challenge” Guide

From WI: http://www.webkinzinsider.com/forum/f125/strategies-winning-party-jelly-bean-jar-703428/index10.html

Here are the 4 jar levels
The numbers underneath each picture indicates winners in that jars range. These are not every winner but a huge chunk of the winners.

This is my personal strategy… When I open up the Jelly Bean Jar I see which level I have. When I see which of the 4 I have I take one of the known winning numbers in that range I guess it. If it is SO CLOSE I guess all of the numbers surrounding that number.
Say I open a low jar and Guess 187 and Get SO CLOSE I then guess 186 185 184 188
I usually go in order of the numbers. You have 5 guesses per jar in the Parties.

If I open a jar and guess a winning # from previous and get Great Guess, I then take another winning number than is more than 12 away from it and guess it.
Say I open a low jar and guess 187 and get Great Guess I then take the next winning # that is more than 12 away. Sometimes I do it lower and sometimes I do it higher. I would guess 174. If I get a Great Guess Again I try the next winning # higher than the 187 and guess 206.

The strategy of guessing the numbers surrounding a known winning number has netted me so many jars.

From our experience we have yet to come across a full jar over 600 beans. Also, we have not had a full jar of 500 beans. There have been many different opinions on the amount of jelly beans in a full jar. This thread is based on our experience only within a 600 jar range.
Here are the approximate ranges we have narrowed it to:

600 range jar
So Close…………..Within 1-11 beans away approximately
Great guess………Within 12-54 beans away approximately
Not a bad guess..Within 55–85 beans away approximately
You’re way off……86 beans or more beans away approximately

This range is our average range that we experienced. We have encountered a few jars where the ranges had an even greater deviation. We will make changes to these ranges as we continue to work on the party jars.

Unlike the 10,000 jelly bean challenge jars that have a different picture for every 99 numbers., we have seen 4 different pictures of jars with 4 levels only.

Lowest (just above bottom of label): 150-233 approximately
Middle of label: 234-349 approximately
Just above label: 350-454 approximately
Highest: 455-515 approximately

It helps to schedule your jelly bean game last. You will be able to continue guessing until the party ends. The extra time is very helpful when using multiple pets.

How To “Jellybean Challenge” Guide

We have gathered information from several different sources to provide you with a little summary of how to determine which ‘range’ jar you have, how to narrow your jar within that range, and where everyone is tracking to help you along. Everyon is welcome to track jars here on Gymbo’s Webkinz Blog on whatever is the ‘current post’.

First, you should view the jars on this site (click here) to determine which range jar you have. You will often see these refered to as the XXXXjar which is the first number in the range.

Next, you can check here on the current post at Gymbo’s Webkinz Blog and the Webkinz Insider Jellybean Tracking Thread (click here) for current winning numbers and narrowing.

When narrowing your jar, you can post the jar range, then NT (Narrowed To) meaning you have narrowed the range of the winning number further. To begin narrowing, you determine the midpoint of your rangeplus add 200 to the midpoint, and enter that number as your first guess.

Here is how to interpret the result of your guess:
If you get “Oooo, that was close!” then your guess is 1-199 jellybeans off.
If you get “Not a bad guess!” then your guess is 200-499 jellybeans off.
If you get “You’ll need to be closer!” then your guess is 500-999 jellybeans off.
If you get “Wow, that was way off” then your guess is 1000 or more jellybeans off.

Using the method to above to interpret the answer, you narrow your range, find the midpoint of the new NT range, add 200 to the new midpoint, and enter that number as your second guess. That further narrows your jar based on the answer. Since your third and final guess will tell you ‘sorry’ if you don’t guess correctly, you should randomly guess any number in your NT range unless you are working on narrowing with someone else and can wait for a winning number.
